Role Description:
The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience in the Central Texas market, with a strong background working for a reputable civil contractor specializing in site work, subdivisions, roads, ponds, and other public infrastructure. The candidate should be familiar with local best practices and knowledgeable about the City of Austin and surrounding municipal codes, specifications, and requirements. Experience growing from a field-based role is highly valued, along with established relationships within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage projects from bidding through the construction phase to final closeout.
Provide accurate estimates, including proficiency in reading and interpreting plans and construction documents.
Utilize software tools such as AGTEK, Bluebeam, and HCSS Heavy Bid for estimating and project management tasks.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
Foster strong collaboration between project engineers, company field crews, and trade partners.
Maintain a working knowledge of job cost software, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and HCSS Heavy Job.
Skills and Experience:
Proven ability to manage complex civil construction projects, from planning through execution.
Strong estimating and budgeting skills with experience in AGTEK, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Bid, and job cost tracking software.
Excellent project management skills, including the ability to adhere to timelines and budgets while maintaining positive client relationships.
Effective communication and leadership abilities to work across teams, including field crews and subcontractors.
