YWCA Women of the Year Awards

Honoring the achievements of women is critical to the mission of the YWCA and for nearly 30 years the YWCA Greater Austin has paid tribute to the women that inspire the Austin community at our annual Women of the Year Awards Soiree. The Women of the Year Awards Soiree is the YWCA's largest fund raising event and all funds raised support the YWCA Greater Austin's work to provide vital counseling services to Austin women and families in need. The 2013 Soiree will feature a reception with one of Austin's best silent auctions, a plated dinner, and the presentation of the 2013 Women of the Year Awards by Dr. Dara Richardson-Heron, new CEO of YWCA USA. Honor Austin's most visionary women on Friday, June 28. Recipients of Women of the Year Awards are recognized for their dedication to the mission of the YWCA and to improving the lives of Austin women, families and youth. Each year the YWCA presents awards to five women in the categories of: • Racial Justice • Economic Empowerment • Young Woman of Achievement (15-20 years old) • Leader of Promise (21-40 years old) • Lifetime Achievement
