The Guadalupe River Chapter of Trout Unlimited is hosting Troutfest

The Guadalupe River Chapter of Trout Unlimited (GRTU) is again hosting Troutfest  at the Rio Raft Resort, on the banks of the Guadalupe River on February 24^th, 25^th, and 26^th, 2012.  GRTU is one of the largest chapters of Trout Unlimited in the United States with just over 5000 members statewide.  Our membership is spread throughout the State of Texas and our 3 membership meetings (October, January, and April) are a reflection of or membership's diversity.  We have members that are active in CCA, Fly Fishing Federation, and various local fly fishing clubs scattered throughout the state.
Friday night, February 24^th will be the Troutfest Banquet where key note speaker Chris Wood, CEO of Trout Unlimited will address the 250 persons in attendance paying $50 each for a banquet ticket.  There will be raffle items, silent auction and a live auction with premium items available for attendees, Friday evening.  This is the primary fund raising event for the weekend.  The funds generated by GRTU Troutfest will be used to conserve, protect, and restore the tailwater fishery immediately below Canyon Dam on the Guadalupe River.  The ''Guad'' has been named in the top 100 trout fisheries.
