The mini-lights on the gaudy, yet famous, “velvet riverboat wall hanging” at Rosie’s Tamale House stopped burning a few years ago. That's not just a disappointment, it's a downright shame. But we're about to change that (Ben Rehder & Don Gray).
With Rosie's knowledge, we have decided to have a "re-lighting" ceremony at Rosie's on Friday, August 31, 7 PM. We've seen to it that the lights will be operational then. Around 7:30 PM on Friday, August 31 we plan to interrupt every one's dinner with the re-lighting ceremony. Members of the Arriaga family that owns Rosie's will be on hand to plug in the new lights. There will be a round of applause from the guests as the lights burn brightly once more. Some folks may be brought to tears with emotion. Local dignitaries will be invited, along with lots of Rosie's fans. We fully expect that every seat will be taken on the night of the ceremony. It will be like a reunion of Rosie's fans and a tribute to Rosie's.
