Second Annual MUD RUN December 14, 2013
The idea of conquering a challenge, bigger than ourselves, appeals to something deep inside most of us.
We believe this explains the popularity of extreme events called “Mud Runs”. “Mudders” are a unique breed. They put fun, teamwork, and camaraderie above trying to achieve a “personal best” fast time. Many “Mud Runs”, including ours, support a good cause. Racers are able to support a worthy cause, enjoy a fun event, and go home bruised, battered, and sore.
Why run a 5K race through mud, muck and over tortuous obstacle? Because we are “mudders” and that is what we do. It may surprise you that over 80% of the reported entrants from mud races around the country last year were first time “mudders”. About 60% of the entrants in our race last year were female. You can do this, come join us with an entire team or if you would like we can put you on a team.
What are “mudders” looking for? Adventure, FUN, something motivating and inspiring. A 36 year old mother and wife said “there is something exciting about climbing over an unbelievable obstacle and jumping into ice cold water.” You may not be that excited about the mud and cold water, but we guarantee you will have an adventure, you won’t soon forget.
As a team building adventure, a mud run can’t be beat. Teammates encourage and assist one another through the entire 5K course. Participants are often seen helping total strangers through some of the more difficult obstacles. Get your office staff or fellow workers together for a day of muddy FUN.
On December 14, 2013, Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center (a 501C3 organization) will host its second annual “Polar Bear Mud Run”.
The course was designed by a Marine Corps Sergeant and his focus was on team building. Participants will be pushed to their limits as they “succeed” by working together.
Come join us for the “POLAR BEAR MUD RUN” ADVENTURE
