SPEED NETWORKING EVENT
What is Speed Networking?
When business people attend networking events, they tend to gravitate towards people they know, and don't always meet new individuals or business contacts.
In a dedicated speed networking event, people are given a structured environment in which they can talk to people they wouldn't otherwise have come into contact with, and can quickly decide whether there is a mutual interest without the need for unnecessarily long and sometimes awkward conversations.
It is a new and fresh way to build your business contacts in a time efficient manner! Being able to articulate your business, company, profession, product or services in a few seconds gives you a clear advantage over your competition. Speed networking allows professionals to practice and perfect succinctly articulating their business objectives. As people continue to repeat their speech and connect with others, they are also able to use the right words to make the right first impression which leads to more of the right referrals.
Plan Ahead
So you can make the most of your time at our events, we have prepared a few ideas to help you get your pitch just right. It’s not difficult, all you have to do is give a little thought to each of these aspects.
- Know your business, and know it well;
- Be able to describe what you do and who you do it for in a few clear sentences; and
- Know what you want and need from networking and what you have to offer.
How it works
With all participants seated after lunch service, the Speed Networking sessions will begin. During each fast paced session, participants will be given 30 seconds to introduce themselves and their business to the participant across from them. After the end of each session, participants will be notified to move to the next seat.
During the event, participants will share business cards, history and offer new contacts with valuable information about their business. For example:
- Who do you know that might need their services?
- Who has a similar client base and might like to exchange client leads with them?
- How might each company do business with one another?
- Can you introduce them to anyone who can help them?
Remember to bring plenty of business cards!
