More than 50 % of the patients who have a thyroid problem never come to the attention of a physician. Thyroid problems can lead to fatigue, weight gain/weight loss/ hair loss, infertility and miscarriages, impotence, palpitations, dizziness and many other symptoms. The physician presenting will be Dr. Simone Scumpia. Dr. Scumpia, a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, specializes in thyroid disease. During the presentation Dr. Scumpia will give a synopsis of what hormones do for you in general, what diseases are associated with hormone dysfunction and how thyroid problems are diagnosed and treated.
