Good Friday Tenebrae Service, presented by the combined choirs of The Lakeway Church and the Lake Travis United Methodist Church, beginning at 7:30 pm. The choirs are under the direction of Mark Savage-Rains (TLC) and Patty Highland (LTUMC) and will be accompanied by an orchestra of strings, woodwinds, handbells and percussion. ''O Sacred Head, Now Wounded,'' will be performed along with a wide variety of moving works by composers from J.S. Bach to contemporary artists. This moving service will trace the Passion of Christ through scripture readings and related musical selections. The service will be presented in the form of a ''Tenebrae'' Service – candles will be snuffed out following each passage of scripture that is read and the service will end in darkness as we remember the death of Christ, the ''Light of the world.'' Come journey with us through Scripture and powerful music, as we remember Christ's passion and death to redeem the people of the world. There is no charge for this concert.
