Bruce Byron, Public Engagement Officer
Bruce Byron oversees public involvement for the eleven county Austin District of the Texas Department of Transportation. He grew up in New York, Pennsylvania, California and Richardson, Texas. Upon graduating from the University of Texas, he was commissioned in the U S Navy during the Vietnam War. After graduating from the LBJ School of Public Affairs, he served in city management in Plainview and Sugar Land, TX. As a former city manager with over forty years of experience in the public, private and non-profit sectors, he has developed land, consulted in finance and infrastructure and managed the Capital Area Transportation Coalition, a business association supporting regional mobility. He now spends his time explaining the complex challenge of building highways in Central Texas.

Chad McKeown, Deputy Executive Director, CAMPO.
Chad McKeown, AICP, is the Deputy Executive Director at the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO). CAMPO serves as the metropolitan planning organization for the six-county Greater Austin area. Chad has over twenty years of experience in transportation planning in both the public and private sectors. Prior to joining CAMPO, he was a Senior Associate at the Austin office of Cambridge Systematics, where he managed projects for clients across Texas, including the Texas Department of Transportation, local transit agencies, and metropolitan planning organizations. Chad had previously served as a Program Manager at the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), the metropolitan planning organization for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In his various roles at NCTCOG, Chad led the development of long-range transportation plans, oversaw multimodal corridor studies, and built consensus with partners throughout the diverse North Texas region which includes over 200 cities, three Texas Department of Transportation districts, two toll authorities, three transit agencies, and several private concessionaires.
Chad earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography, focusing on urban studies, from the University of Texas at Austin. Chad earned his Master of Science Degree in Community and Regional Planning, with a focus on transportation, also from the University of Texas at Austin.
Presentation: CAMPO 2045 Regional Transportation Plan
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is collecting feedback on the 2045 Transportation Plan, which will address multimodal transportation needs over the next 25 years in Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties. The presentation will explain CAMPO, the planning process, why the capital region needs this plan, and how to share input.
