Diabetes Awareness Free Lunch and Learn

Today in the United States, over 21 million children and adults have diabetes. It is estimated that half of them with the disease don't even know they have it. In order to combat these statistics, LRMC is hosting a free Lunch & Learn to help educate and promote awareness of diabetes and how to manage it. Dr. Kyle Rhodes M.D. will be discussing the effect of diabetes on the eyes, Dr. Samuel DeMaio M.D. will be explaining the cardiovascular side effects of diabetes, and Andrea Ahern an LRMC Nutritionist will be discussing the importance of proper nutrition for diabetec patients. LRMC will also be providing a free diabetes friendly lunch to illustrate the nutritional components of a typical diet plan and corresponding recipe cards. Please rsvp to rsvp@lakewayregional.com
