Cinco de Mayo celebration

Jardin de Niños Interlingua (JNI), the Spanish Immersion Day School with two locations in Austin will host a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the amphitheater at The Hill Country Galleria located at 12700 Hill Country Blvd. in Bee Cave. Students pre-school through fourth grade will celebrate the commemorative Mexican holiday through song and dance. At JNI, students ranging from infant to fourth grade are completely immersed in Spanish, including knowledge of Mexican culture, history and its rich traditions. Students will showcase this distinctive culture by dressing up in Mexican costumes and performing popular folklore songs such as ''La Bamba,'' ''La Cucaracha'' and various others. The community is encouraged to come out and attend the celebration which will conclude with a mariachi performance.
