Remember watching the great cowboys and Indians shows on television? Or in today's world, how about the Na'vi, the blue aliens in ''Avatar'', shooting their bows and arrows? Archery is actually a skill dating from the late Paleolithic era, about 10,000-9,000 BC. It is now considered a sport and is something we are all familiar with. Have you ever considered trying it yourself? Join The Lakeway Church in a program entitled ''Centershot,'' which teaches the life skills and expertise of archery (including focus, concentration, goal setting, discipline and practice) to a wide range of age groups. Held in the gymnasium of the Fellowship Center, these classes are open to all area residents from 3rd grade through adults. This series consists of six hour-and-a-half sessions, meeting on consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, beginning April 28 and ending June 2. While archery is a major part of ''Centershot'', it's just one aspect of the whole program. Each session also includes a time of Bible study and a time for snacks and socializing. It's a great activity for all ages to enjoy together and families are encouraged to sign up for this life-changing experience. All equipment is provided; there is a $15 per participant enrollment fee. Contact Sean Reece at sean@lakewaychurch.net or visit our website, www.lakewaychurch.org, to fill out a registration form. Or just show up on April 28th at 6:00 pm!
